Family Photoshoots on Koh Samui - What to Expect

Family sessions on Koh Samui work best in the early morning (around 8:00–11:00) or late afternoon (after 15:00), when the heat is manageable for kids and the light is soft. Chaweng and Maenam beaches have wide, flat sand that's easy for younger children to play on, while Fisherman's Village offers a fun, colourful setting if you'd rather skip the beach altogether.

We keep family sessions relaxed and unposed for most of the time - letting kids play, walk, or splash in the shallows while we shoot candidly - and in between, we take group portraits that everyone can save as an "official" family photo from this year's vacation. Sessions usually run 1–2 hours, which is enough time without overtiring younger children.

The most natural setting for your family photos on Koh Samui is your resort and its beach. The kids remain in a familiar environment, and we get a beautiful photoshoot location – a manicured green garden and a beautifully equipped hotel beach. And if the kids get tired, the hotel's beach bar is right there, where you can sip a coconut and take some beautiful, atmospheric family photos in a resort-style lifestyle.
